This deposit and stamp was handled by a kind older gentleman. After stamping the book, he comes out from behind the counter and starts apologizing for making it crooked. I said it's fine and show him other crooked stamps and that sometimes it happens, but he insists he really screwed up and that his the most crooked of them all. I tell him don't worry about it and that it gives the stamp a unique charm, and that seemed to make him happy. If you browse through the collection, you can see many places where stamps are crooked, use too much / too little ink, etc. Honestly, I think the messiness of the stamps is perfect for making the bankbook feel like a travel record, as opposed to if every stamp were perfectly clear and aligned. However, I do appreciate a little extra care if there is a unique illustration involved :)
